The Mind lens
We think we see the world through our eyes, but not exactly. We see the world through our day to day experiences. Whenever we are happy, we perceive our world to be happy and filled with fun.
Time flies away quickly during vacations. On the other hand, when we are stressed, we feel as if everything around us is sad and gloomy.
Thus we do not look at our world through our eyes, but we use a ‘mind lens’. This ‘mind lens’ is colored by our mood and affects how we receive information presented to us.
For example, suppose your colleague had an argument with his spouse in the morning. This colleague is most likely going to spend the day at the office, being troubled and disturbed. The person’s ‘mind lens’ is colored by the morning argument. If this person’s junior were to request for leave, how do you think this person will react? The leave request will be read in a disturbed state of mind. Most likely the leave will be refused. This does not mean that the person hates the junior. But the timing was wrong.
The idea that I wish to convey is that every person is facing problems in his/her life. People react and behave depending on their mood states. Therefore do not get stressed if someone is not friendly with you at the workplace. Maybe that person is under a lot of stress.
Learn to forgive and forget.
