Anyone who is a fan of cricket, has heard the commentators say “You have to create opportunities to win matches”.
It probably means that one has to trap a batter to get his wicket. I remember seeing the fielding side captain planning alongwith the bowler. He would then arrange his fielders. The bowler would bowl in a particular area, forcing the batter to play a risky shot. Once the batter played a bad shot, a fielder would easily catch the ball and get the batter out. A plan well executed!
Similarly in life, we need to create opportunities to be happy. You need to set up fielders to send your stress back to the pavilion. How? Regular and planned breaks are like fielders. These will help you keep releasing the accumulated stress.
1.Daily: Take strategic breaks. When overwhelmed with work, take regular 15 minute breaks to release the stress.
2. Fortnightly: Force yourself to go on a picnic at least once every 15 days.
3. Annually: Have plans for a good annual vacation. Spend at least 1 week away from your city.
